Amin's polyHIPES in Polymer Chemistry, Masayoshi stars in Soft Matter
Big congratulations to PhD candidates Amin Khodabandeh (UTAS) and Masayoshi Tokuda (Kobe) for their recently published work in the RSC journals Polymer Chemistry and Soft Matter respectively.
Amin's paper, 'Preparation of inverse polymerized high internal phase emulsions using an amphiphilic macro-RAFT agent as sole stabilizer' represents an exciting development in the preparation of hydrophilic porous polymer monoliths stabilized by diblock copolymers. These materials have potential applications in the design of stationary phases for separation science.
Masayoshi's paper,'Synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles containing reduced graphene oxide nanosheets stabilized by poly(ionic liquid) using miniemulsion polymerization' is the second paper that has emerged from his time at CAMD (UNSW) which focussed on the use of carefully designed poly(ionic liquid)s used to aid the incorporation of nano-dimensional reduced graphene oxide sheets into a nanoparticle matrix.
Well done to both of you!
